Wroughton and Wichelstowe residents, we need your views.

What types of housing are needed in the parish❓
Where should future development take place❓
What are your priorities for you and your family❓
What do you love most about the parish❓

In order to help us develop our new 10-year Neighbourhood Plan, we need you to complete a special survey.

Physical copies have gone through your letterboxes. After you've filled them in, they can be put into drop boxes at:

Next Wednesday (2 Sept), we have a Planning and Highways Committee meeting in the diary.

This committee examines planning applications and reviews highways issues that occur in the parish.

On the agenda next week is:
🚧 The planned closure of Bakers Road and Overtown Lane
⚽️ Habitat management plans for the Wichelstowe Sports Hub
🚗 Speeding in the parish
🏠 An update on the Neighbourhood Plan survey

...and plenty more.

The meeting will take place at 7.30pm at the Ellendune, and you're all welcome to attend if you wish.

As you’ll probably have seen, Marlborough Road has now fully reopened in both directions – great news 👍

Wales & West Utilities will need to pop back to finish the surfacing at some point over the next couple of weeks, but we’re told that the road will not need to be closed for this.

Now Marlborough Road is open again, W&W will be moving to the next stage of the works.

This will be:
📍 Swindon Road (between Berkeley Road and Perrys Lane)
📅 1 September to 13 September

After that, they'll be at:
📍 Moormead Road (roughly from the Prospect to the Co-op roundabout)
📅 14 September to 4 October

Temporary traffic lights will be in place on these last two sections.

Just a couple of things to let you all know about this afternoon.

Tomorrow morning, the grassy mound on Priors Hill (at the Bakers Road junction) is being strimmed by our grounds team. If you usually park in that area, please ensure you leave us enough space to work.

And we've had some damage reported to the climbing net at the Maunsell Way play area, so we've taken it down for now. Some new netting will be installed shortly.
