Last week we shared news that we're investing £55,000 to rejuvenate much-loved Moat Pond 🌻💧
This week, James and Joe from our grounds team have been out measuring the pond as part of the initial scoping work.
Can you spot James in the first picture? (we're pleased to report that he didn't fall in...).
The project is intended to help protect local wildlife, improve biodiversity and create a more attractive environment.

Next week we'll be talking about trees 🌳
A meeting of our assets and open spaces committee will take place next Wednesday (4 Nov), and an update on tree planting is on the agenda.
This winter, we'll be replacing some of the trees that we planted in 2022 and which have sadly died. These are located at Maunsell Way, Belmont Green and Falkirk Field.
We've identified just over 90 trees that need to be replaced.
Residents are welcome to attend the meeting next Wednesday and join the conversation.

This year, Wroughton has endured enormous disruption on the roads.
We've had gridlock on a daily basis, increased levels of pollution, HGVs on narrow streets and reports from residents about road safety concerns.
Multiple roadworks have occured at the same time and information about the schemes has been sketchy.
As a result, today we've written to Swindon Borough Council, on behalf of residents, to highlight these issues and to ask for better in future.
We want to see:
✅ Better coordination between schemes
✅ Earlier communication with us and residents
✅ Better plans in place for worst case scenarios
✅ More oversight of utility works

Our grounds team have been out today tidying up the area around the war memorial ahead of this year's Remembrance service 🌺
They've done a great job - thanks guys!
This year, the event will be held on Sunday 8 November. The parade will be leaving the parish church at 10.35am and the wreath laying service will start at 10.50am.
We're looking forward to welcoming the whole community to the event ❤️ 🌺 ...
